The existing terrace around this house was formed of bricks and paving slabs. As well as being difficult to keep clean and clear of algae, it looked rather dated.
Local firm Decking On Steel was brought in to create a new deck that extended the area of the terrace while giving it a stylish, contemporary look.
"The shape of the existing terrace led to the unsatisfactory arrangement of seating in two separate areas"

The house’s exterior has been refreshed with a stylish new terrace, including a broad space where the owners can entertain friends and family. Built-in seating has been included, while a glass balustrade and atmospheric lighting provide practical as well as aesthetic finishing touches. For the terrace’s surface itself, Millboard Enhanced Grain in Smoked Oak decking was chosen both for its visual appeal and its high performance characteristics: it has great slip resistance –even in the wet – and keeps its attractive looks with a minimum of maintenance.
Millboard decking provided an ideal surface for what the clients required. It looks superb and it needs little or no maintenance to stay that way.
